Every two years the world’s aviation and aerospace industries
gather at Farnborough in Southern England, for one of the
world’s largest air shows. The week-long event provides a
showcase for the latest developments in aviation and space
exploration.

In the sixty years since the first show at Farnborough there
have been many landmark moments. The most recent of these
being 2006, when we saw the spectacular public debut in the
UK of the Airbus A380, the world’s largest civil airliner.

One of the most eagerly anticipated parts of Farnborough
International are the flying displays.

These displays feature a wide variety of aircraft from civilian to
military, classic to modern. Amazing maneuvers and stunts are
performed showing the full ability of each individual aircraft.

2008 will be a particularly special show as it marks not only 60
years of the Farnborough show but also 100 years of flight in
Britain. There will be a number of exhibits including replicas of
early aircraft celebrating this important milestone. In one place
one will be able to see and marvel at the incredible progress
made by aviation in the last hundred years.

In 2006, Life TV was the sole UK broadcaster to cover the
event in depth. Next year we will be returning with a package of
programming that reflects the events significance including a
daily report and a highlights package available for both
broadband and international broadcast.
