This original series takes a look at the stories behind objects that have become acknowledged icons in their genre.

Using a mix of archive and modern material, each program looks at the wider context of the featured icon: the life and
times into which the object arrived and how it survives today.

Episodes include a collection of unmistakable icons such as the ‘Mini’, the ‘Fender Stratocaster’. The ‘Empire State
Building’ and the legendary WWII aircraft ‘Spitfire’.
